Clutch Troubles.

Ok...I took my car to the drag strip a while back and ended up smoking the clutch.(lots of stink, started slipping a bit) After i let the clutch cool off everything was fine. I decided to upgrade my clutch disk to an ACT 4 puck sprung hub unit...

After replacing JUST the clutch disk, the engine developed an imbalance at 6,000+rpm. Also when ever the clutch is slipped(during gear changes) it makes a harmonic "squeal" similar to brakes. I'm wondering if some part of the pressure plate has come lose...

I've ordered a new pressure plate from ACT, with plans to resurface my ACT prolite flywheel. my question is should I put the 4 puck back in(worried that the vibration/noise may come from it...) Or simply go back to the full faced disk, since it only had problems at the drag strip, but was fine for the street.

Just looking for some outside opinions here...i don't want the imbalance since i'm worried about it accelerating the wear of my engine bearings, and i don't want that noise to come back since this is a street car.

more information...i'm pretty sure the clutch isn't the cause of the vibration, as it does it wether or not the trans is in gear, and wether or not the pedal is depressed.

so um...should i risk using a clutch disk that has been overheated in the past?(to the point of stinking)
