Check engine light

hoping somebody can help me out and tell me the probable cause/causes of the "check engine" light comeing on in my 93' FD. I do have a broken fuel and oil pressure gauge that needs to be fixed, could this set it off? when i bought the car it did not come with an owners manual so i don't have any answers. any suggestions will help, thanks

Lots of things can cause that light to go off. Buy a shop manual (I personally like Haynes); they're worth every penny. It's either that or take it to a shop and have them do a computer diagnostics to it. That'll tell you exactly what is causing it to come on.
