i just blew an apex sealin my FD today... i'm prolly gonna do the rebuild myself as well. this thread has definetly been informative since this is my first rebuild. i don't know why my seal went though. i was just idling when it went and i only have 56000 miles on it. so pissed i just got it last month.

You blew an apex seal Idling? Thats strange? I've never heard of that. Not that it isn't possible, just never heard of it? Maybe some serious carbon build up? Your sure it was your apex seal?

You can visually check apex seals through the exhaust ports.

either way its gotta come apart...even if your going to replace it with a reman you should pull the block apart to see what happened

if you dont know how to do it. you can buy videos to help you learn. but i highly recomend getting some one over that has done it befor to help and show you.

i just recently did a rebuild. and i had some one do it for me and show me everything. and now i am confident i can do it aswell. but there were alot of things that videos did not show me that i needed to know.
such as how to clean the parts and tricks to installing apex seal springs.
