Okay, I have an 87 Turbo II. I assumed my starter went out a while back when I turned the key and nothing happened (full charge on battery, new plugs, etc.). There was no noise from the starter, no clicking, no nothing. So I went and bought a rebuilt one from AutoZone, slapped her in and she started right up. That was a week ago. Last night at work, same thing as before. Any ideas on what I'm missing here? Could I have a short somewhere in my ignition wiring or is something making my starters fry?

 

Maybe the positive power wire to the starter is getting coated with dirt, oil, grime, etc., or is fell off. That would be the first thing to check.

 

Did a fuse blow from time to time?
