Sorry the car I'm having trouble with is not rotary powered, it's my girlfriend's '93 Mazda 626

Im sure theres enough knowledge here to give some good suggestions.. I've tried everything I can and I have no where else to turn to..

Heres what happens..
Only when driving.. not idling the car will suddenly, and I mean suddenly stall.. RPMs directly to 0 and all the dash lights come on.. no stumble or hesitation, just completely dead in 0.5 second
Since theres no hesitation or warning, I figure its not a fuel problem, but rather, an ignition or electrical type deal.

We've replaced the battery, + battery cable, the - one is fine. and the ignition coil already and its still happening.

Anyone have any suggestions? Any will help!

Auto or 5 speed?

 

Could be the alternator. That kept happening to my friends FB...

 

does the stereo cut out right before you stall? take ur car to auto zone and have them do a test on the alternator and i think they also check the charging system as well, maybe ask some of the guys at mazda626.net ...good people
