Can the Heater Matrix cause overheating?

Iv had an overheating problem for about 3 months now, so have not really driven the car unless testing it after doing some work on it...Here is the thread about it on Mazdarotaryclub

Last night i took it out of the drive to get to the Benz and i noticed that the passenger footwell was drenched! I reached around behind the glove box and it was actually dripping...

If i turn the heater on...right away it will all steam up, all the windows within 5 seconds will be steamed. Its been like this for a month now steaming up even in the drive when i havnt touched it for weeks

Can the heater matrix cause the car to overheat or is this an entirely new problem!!

It is part of the engine cooling system and should be treated as any other component of the system. Short answer, yes, coolant leaks cause over heating.

I disconnected it last night but the system is still pressurising and the buzzer comes on after about 5 mins whilst on the drive...it used to take about 2 hours before it overheated (100'c+) but last night it went straight up to 103'c so i turned it off!

Any ideas would be great
