A/C Questions

I have a 86 RX7 and the compressor is connected and the only thing it needs is the freon. When I go to push the button to the side to turn on the a/C nothing happens. Could someone help out and tell me what might be wrong. I dont understand it.

ac pressure switch not letting ac on since you have no freon.

So I searched and found nothing... Can someone please help me out... I started the car and put freon in it and the bar went to the yellow. I turned the switch on and nothing...Not even a sound.. I removed the unit and checked to see if it was plugged in and nothing. I checked the fuses and nothing is blown...

Check voltage at the wires to the switch to see if you have power running through it. Check relays for same. If you have voltage, good relays, no blown fuses is it possible your compressor is shot? If voltage goes through relays you should be able to hear them click.

Here is a good thread on FC A/C systems:
https://www.rx7club.com/2nd-gen-archive-72/official-its-summer-there-going-million-ac-questions-thread-308839/

You can bypass the pressure switch to do a quick test. Just unplug the two leads and put a jumper wire across the plugs. (The pressure switch is near the coolant overflow tank.)

P.S. If you had the system apart, I hope you got all the moisture and air out with a vacuum pump before trying to refill it.
