A/C in car robbing power?

Hello fellow rotary heads! I am very new to the forum but have a general understanding of rotary engines. I love rx-7's and am looking to get an FD for a daily. I was planning to go single turbo and make close to 400whp. (I know it is expensive I have the funds for it though). My question is this, many people talk about "not running a/c" when they hit these numbers. So simply I would like to know does this mean that they tear out the a/c compressor and lines all together? Or simply not have the a/c turned on when they do their dyno run? All answers are appreciated, thanks!

some say power reduction..others say it is a Weight reduction to remove A/C.
I'd think it falls unde what do you want?..not what did some guys do to gain engine bay space.

I actually know a guy who tracks his car and has AC!..he says it's great to run on the track and be Cool as a Cucumber.

I'd like to meet the people who actually notice a difference of say 6 hp by deleting Ac and components.
If you are running 400 HP and notice the car with AC is now at 396 I would kiss that Magical butt dyno.,
My car was fast..and after I modded it,well,Freakin Fast..but honestly If I could have had AC in my S4 I would have kept it..(* I measured interior temp one hot summer day and it was 140 something..like a damn hot box!)
