Cool Black-***.... Black Soot Cleanup Suggestions

Ok... so after washing my REX... seems like the back bumper, by the exhaust turns black from exhaust soot in just a few days.... I hate the way it looks ! And frequently washing the car or letting it go for while doesn't seem to make a difference. Regardless, the soot is tough to remore. Plus it gets into every nook and cranny. My car is RED so the soot really shows... and makes the cars rear look ghetto.

I heard about some stuff that's supposed to be really good at removing ehaust soot but can't rememeber its' name or a purchase source...

Any help would be appreciated ..... either PM me (AOL IM is "karken29" YAHOO IM is "karken_07960"), post this thread or PM me ....

Thanks,
Rich

BTW... At WOT (Wide Open Throttle) my Air/Fuel Ratio is like 10.8 : 1 .... otherwise... I'm at like 13.8 and up...

I use car polish. Mequire's, Mother's, 3M Finesse-it work really well. Wax AND Polish products (all in one) do not work as well.

Just keep a little quick detailer and a towel in one of the bins, and spray and wipe off every couple days.... other than the soot, i get a little oil-film buildup after track events, and I use a clay bar to get it off, then polish and way.

Hm, you could always pick up the phone and call me, and I would tell you that the cleaning solution is called Little Effort and give you their website: http://www.littleeffort.com/

Also, you may want to stop smoking your deathsticks near the back of the rex

Sounds like you might want to check the function of the O2 sensor. I found that polishing compound works well too and doesn't seem to bother the finish.

O2 sensor

Sounds like you are running rich, check your O2 sensor,
if you retuned for more power on pump gas you might not have a choice for the boost your running though.

Armor-all cleaning wipes, in the purple can, work great for carbon and grease removal (great for detail cleaning under the hood too)

I spray glass cleaner or simple green on "the burn" before washing the car, it works very well. now if only there was a way to get rid of the bubles and junk in the paint.
