WHICH WAS IS "THE bEST"
I LIKE TO KNOW WHICH YEARS ENGINE WOULD PRODUCE THE MOST PONIES AND TORQUE AFTER ALL UPGRADES. iS IT POSSIBLE TO SWAP THE RENISIS OUT OF THE RX8 IN THE RX7. WOULD IT BE BETTER. WHY OR WHY NOT. I LIKE THE 93-95 MODELS AND I ALSO LIKE THE YOUNGER VERSIONS. WHICH ONE IS THE LIGHTEST AND COULD YOU DO AN ENGINE SWAP FOR THE "BEST" ENGINE IN THAT CAR. tHANK FOR THE RESPONSES
There really is no "Best". Most of it has to do with how the car will be used, but if I had to choose, I would pick the 20B (3 Rotor). Keep in mind though, alot of it depends how deep your pockets are.
As for Swapping the Renesis into an RX-7, I wouldn't bother.

The 1st gen (79-85) was the lightest, but also the least powerful. Most people use the early 13B 4 port or the 13B 6port motors to upgrade. The later 13Bs (89-91) had lighter rotors, a higher redline, and a little more power in stock form, but it is debatable what is the best to upgrade; again it depends on what you are trying to accomplish. Still other people build hybrids (mixing different year's components) like a 4 port 13B with 89-91 rotors, or a turbo block with N/A rotors, etc. The most powerful motor is probably the 26RT, which is a Mazda Race only motor used in a few of thier racing projects. It is a four rotor 2.6l motor. (essentially 2 13Bs with a custom e-shaft) Good luck trying to get a 26RT into any street car though. The most powerful setup for a street car in most people's opinion is a 20B which is a 3 rotor engine. They can be put into 2nd and 3rd gens, but it is quite expensive to do it right. I have even seen a couple of 1st gen race cars with them, though these cars were full race cars with tube chassis.
