Backed up Catylitic causing engine to run extremly rough.

a week ago i was driving along and all of a sudden i got a ton of power loss. stopped the car, took a look and could tell that the exhaust system (converters) had basically sdestroyed themselves. so i went to muffler shop yanked out the cats, threw in a straight pipe with a baffle in it for the back pressure needed, but now its still running like it was flooded really bad or there is limited spark, im thinking its possibly my plugs have gone foul. during all of this my oil pressure, oil/coolant temp is in complete normal ranges, and nothing sounds like its fucked in the engine. so what could it be?

MY Car is a 1987 GXL non-turbo

drop the exhaust to see if there is a wire mesh part in it.. If there is than that is your problem and it is one of the parts that is in the cat from the factory and is usealy the last part to leave the cat when it goes...

I should also say the wire mesh will be all wadded up laying in the next part of the exhaust system...

well got it back from mazda, and buy the looks of it my fuel injectors in the front rotr are shot, my spark plugs got fouled from the backpressure/heat, and its posible my ecm is gone somehow. but all in all my compression is a little low(due to front rotor not firing) and i need to figure out whats up with the front rotor and why its not firing. my 3 ideas are coils are gone, ECM is gone, or the Fuel injectors need replacing. what are your ideas?
