I was driving my car a few nights ago. It was really cold out. My engine didn't really have time to warm up but I wasn't getting on it hard anyways. Under acceleration, it sputtered and backfired a few times in second and third gear. It felt like fuel cut but had the backfire sound in the exhaust. Later that night, again cold motor, it did it again. On the interstate after driving for like an hour it sputtered again at 80mph and felt like i was running out of gas or something, didn't hear any backfiring tho. Yesterday, it died on leaving RadioCrack. I knew I had a bad TPS(only read to 1.7Kohms). So, I went to the Scrapyard this morning and picked up a working TPS for 10 bucks (sweet). Driving around town a few hours ago it sputtered under acceleration again. Then on my way home, warm motor, the motor just died at about 40mpg and I coasted the rest of the way home. Also, the two times the motor died, I couldn't restart it without using the fuel cutoff switch. Which leads me to believe the for some reason, it stops sparking and floods the motor. any suggestions as to the cause of my situation?

 

now it won't even start. i went to go somewhere earlier today and it wouldn't even start. i was so bummed that i just watched TV all day. i'll check tomorrow to make sure i'm getting spark and fuel. and there's no doubt that i'm getting air.
