autometer a/f meter

i tried to do search but cant find a good answer. im trying to determine where is the best place to install the oxygen sensor for my 85 gsl with big streetport and dual exhaust to one muffler. per the instruction sheet, they recommend on the collector. is this correct? any input?

O2 sensors should be installed as close to the exhaust port because their accuracy is determined by heat. Do you have headers or are you turbocharging?

im using a rb road race headers. im sure i can run 2 sensors with a toggle switch. exactly how many inches from the exhaust ports?
