Hi All,

I know you probably get a heap of these questions but I'll ask it also. I'm new to the forum and I just recently bought my Mazda RX7 S8 RB. My engine is standard with only a 3" cat back exhaust. Everything seems to be fine however, when I'm parking the car in my driveway and other places, when I tap the throttle to give it revs, I get a large pop which sounds like a backfire... Normal idol and normal driving car seems fine, it doesn't backfire in the high end revs either however, I do get some backfire when the revs are coming down from cruising speed, but my main concern is when I'm parking it and get a big pop... Any recommendations?

It's just because of the cat back exhaust nothing to worry about

 

Sounds pretty normal, just some unburned fuel igniting on the hot cat back. Just try not to scare people with it
