You might want to think about another way to control the power drain from your stereo, a larger alternator will help, but then you'll need a more powerful battery as well. If you hook up a more powerful alternator and keep your stock battery you'll burn up the cells quicker, the easiest way to kill a battery is give it to much power. I'm not sure how it works completely, but one way to fix the power drain from the speakers is to hook up capasitors in seires with the speakers, the capasitors work like little batteries to help the speakers. So talk to your local stereo shop first before adding a new alternator. You might save some money in the long run.
Good luck!
