My bad....I had re-read that last night and forgot to add I HAD attributed it to age. Meaning at the time that I pulled it that what I thought. But at the same time, isn't it a pretty well known fact that the FC coils are more robust that the FD ones?
On top of that, that's the other question that I had asked...what are the FC coils good for. I think that information is critical. To ask again here...we know what the primary side is seeing (or supposed to see anyway) which is 535v. Let's say the ratio is 85:1 which I guess is pretty common. That's ~45kv out the secondary. Can the stockers handle that long term? That's what I need to know. I'm only at 15 psi now. I'm going to add 10 to that for next year. This is the kinda info that's good to have.

My AEM is still working with the four Jacobs C4 coils . I did have one problem one night .I took my sons friend out for a ride and at 6k rpm the pull went to krap with missing and backfireing .Back to the house and checking the coils for fire found the front trailing coil dead .Because they are below the master cylinder I could easly pull on the primary wires .One had broken at the connector and caused the missing and gunfire . After a quick repair all was back to the way it was .Spinning the tires from 6k to 8k .

Well, after this and a conversation with Mitch at AEM, I've gone with the HKS box. Apparently they're having issues across the board with the latest redesign...not just rotary specific. Yes, I'm getting a refund. I indicated that I can't continue this course and keep going down like this. Maybe they'll get it right. I hope so. It's potentially a really good box and I've had nothing but good experiences with them as far as customer service goes.
If anyone has this and is thinking about going to the HKS, don't even bother with the harness. I could have saved ~$90 by not getting that and a new stock coil harness from Malloy. Since the wiring was already ripped apart it wouldn't have been a big deal to hook that up. But the simplicity is definitely there. Took me about 20 min from pulling the AEM out to plugging the HKS in. Feels pretty good so far.
