Add Coolant light / buzzer

I just got my FD back from the body shop/suspension shop and since I've had it, I've had a recurring problem.

On start up, and very rarely upon braking and coming to a complete stop, my "Add Coolant" light / buzzer will come on. On start up, it will stay on for roughly 30 sec to a minute. Upon braking, it will only come on for a few seconds.

I've chekced my fluid and it wasnt excessively low. Also, I've tried filling up the fluid to full prior to start, and the light still comes on.

Anybody else have this problem, or know what the problem might be?

Thanks for any help on this one, guys.

if your buzzer/light is going off then you don't have enough fluid in the system.....make sure you are adding it to the right place. also, when adding cover the top of the opening with your left hand (so you don't let any air in) and squeeze the coolant hose with your right hand. this will eliminate any air that is in the system.

if you are unsure of where to add coolant, let me know and i can post a pic for you

I know where to add coolant. haha. But i didnt however, know about covering the opening during fill. I'll try that next time.

Hopefully, I dont have to flush the whole system, as my garage is completely stuffed with boxes and **** from the holidays.

thanks for the advice, paps

i'm not sure if i was clear in my description and i don't want you to do anything wrong so here is a more detailed description.

1. fill with coolant to the top
2. place left hand over cover while squeezing the hose with other hand (make sure your hand is firmly pressed on there while squeezing the hose. should squeeze hose about 4-5 times
3. at this point you can lift your left hand off the top and see if the coolant level has gone down. if it does repeat step 2 until the coolant stays at the top. this should eliminate your add coolant light/buzzzer

hope this helps
