Add coolant light

My add coolant light came on yesterday when I cranked up the car, so I didn't drive it all yesterday. Today I got in and it came back on when I cranked it up, so I popped the hood and it had plenty o' coolant. I decided to drive on to work anyway, and the light turned off about 3 minutes later and it never went about the normal temp on the gauge. The light came back on when I turned the car on later on in the day to head home, and it turned off again a few minutes later. Anyone know what the hell is going on?

take off the radiator cap and crank her, see if any bubles come up when you do so. if they do your coolant seals are on the way out. if you dont see any. then you have air in your system most likely.

Add coolant light? I don't think I have one of those...oh wait, you mean the 'replace engine light' ya my cars got that.

Check for little bubbles in the coolant or go to napa and get some test strips.

Does the coolant sensor work by completing a ground circuit? I'm not sure if there's a circuit break in mine so for testing purpose, should I expect the coolant buzzer to go off if I ground the connector at the radiator neck?
