93 rx7 stalling

Just got a 93 rx7 dirt cheap because it had slight body damage. It's been sitting up since last october. The car cranks upand will idle fine until it warms up. The idle drops to around 500-600rpm and sounds a bit lopey. When I took it on a test run down the street and floored it, the car just stalled and sputtered. When the car is not moving, it revs perfect. I work on regular cars all day long, but I'm just not experienced enough with rotary problems. If you guys could give a newby a few pointers or point me in the right direction, I would be very thankful.

Well my first advice is to read, read, search, and read because that is how I learned a ton about my rotary.

Now, as for your problem I would guess it could be a vacuum leak. These cars have what we like to call a "Rats Nest" under the UIM (Upper Intake Manifold). These things get brittle and crack creating a vacuum leak. With the car idling spray WD-40, carb cleaner, etc., on and around as many vacuum lines as possible and see if the idle goes up. If it does, you have found a leak. It sounds like that car just need a good going over.
