89 rx7 gxl prob.

alright ive got an 89 rx 7 gxl 1.3 NA and i was driving home from work today and the tach shut off and my engine light came on. it doesnt do it immediately when i start driving but about 2 to 3 minutes into the drive from a cold start. any suggestions? any thing helps. thanks guys

check your trailing side coil and connections.

checked the trailing coil and connections.. seem to be fine.. the driveability is not effected by the problem and it doesnt run or sound any different. maybe a ground?

If the trailing coil is not working properly, it won't effect performance. The trailing coil just helps out on the unburned fuel. If the coil is firing properly, ground wire and connections are good then I don't know what else to tell you to check.

Maybe your tach is bad.
