87 T2 AFM bad??

could my air flow meter on my 87 T2 be bad? whenever i drive the car, it stumbles at anything other than WOT. i checked it with a multimeter and according to the factory service manual, as the door opens, the voltage should gradualy change. mine didnt do that. it satyed the same until it was completley open. is it no good?
