Where the 4 way adjustable speaker switch was is an aftermarket switch with 2 ways, FORWARD and REVERSE. It is supposed to control the egi system. With the switch in the FORWARD position, the car starts but will sputter and hesitate at around 4000 rpm. in the REVERSE positon, the car wont start but runs fine at high rpms. After the car warms up, it wont idle with the switch in either position. Has anyone seen a switch like this and can u explain what it is, thanks.

 

What ever it is, it doesn't belong there, it's a work around a problem some one didn't fix. Trace the wiring down, sounds like a fuel pump cut switch to deal with flooding. Sounds like the injectors need serviced.
