if you have 3" apex seals i'd be surprised if the motor ran "fine"

he prolly mean 3mm seals.

i'd be weary nonetheless because if he has no clue what his motor has in the build, i'd try to contact the builder themselves and see what they can provide for you.

3mm seals with a streetport isn't overkill for stock twins, it's just right for a future single turbo setup

Yeah I'm wanting to go single turbo on it, but for right now I'm just putting my cash into my supra. yeah the guy built it, and he says it has 3 inch apexi seals with race springs, why would it not run "fine"?

haha sorry guys brain fart!!! I ment 3mm haha 3 inch my bad. lol I thought that looked wierd. But yeah one more thing if I wanted to put new 3mm's in the motor. Some one said that a machine shop has to but the motor back together? and I fergot why he said, but he said that theres somthing you have to do to the motor once it has been apart? and also what is the diff from race grad seal springs and normal springs? and one more thing does anyone know of a machine shop in atlanta that could mill new engine rotors for 3mm seals, cause I do not trust the old rotors, cause the seals failed pretty fast, so I think they may have not milled them right.

i'll hazard a guess on the spring issue, but i only use Mazda apex seal springs, so that's all i have experience with. it will probably be greater spring tension to hold the apex seal against the housing - of course, that's at the cost of greater wear.

do me favor ... and i mean no offense by this ... stop listening to "someone" and try to learn this stuff on your own. it makes asking questions (and speaking for myself, understanding the questions you ask) more difficult that it needs to be.

now, what exactly is wrong with your rotors? if i understood correctly, it sounds like your motor is not running currently and it's confirmed to be the apex seals, but it doesn't sound like it's been disassembled yet. as for why the motor failed, my money is on bad tuning. diassembly will shed more light on that.

look up ReSpeed on this board. i believe they are based near ATL and though i don't think they do the machine work, they may know someone local that does.

Well the car runs really good! it's pretty fast, I just know that the amount of smoke on start up is more then I am use to with other wankles. and why I lsten to the other guy Markus Riley is he is 50 years old and a Mazda Tech who's mane thing is wankle motors. I dunno I just hate the start up smoke, I have a supra and I guess I got use to never having any smoke till my FD and I would like to fix it.

Like "holy ***** coolant is coming out of my exhaust!"

Or "Why do I choke on gas when I walk behind my car?"

so it sounds like your engine may need tuning, a rebuild or both. either way, nothing you've described would support condemning the rotors and machining NEW ones.

Well I think rebuilding the motor sounds like condemning the rotors and machining NEW ones.
