1992 EFINI Mazda rx-7 FD clutch problems

Hey, i recently bought an RX-7 had it imported from japan through a local import garage its a 1992 EFINI edition Type R FD3S With a brand new clutch put in before it was shipped.

I had been driving it for about a week or less and as i was driving last night i shifted into 2'nd gear (around 30km/hr) and heard a noise that sounded like i ran over a peice of plastic and it was hitting the bottem of my car. so i slowed down and didnt hear it again. then i shifted into 3'rd gear(around 45km/hr). Keep in mind i wasent driving fast because i was in my residential area.
anyways when i shifted into 3'rd i heard the noise again so Immediatly i pulled over to check wtf was going on and when i did i didnt see anything under the car.
So i jumped back into my car and turned the car back on and it started up NP and then when i went to put it into 1'st gear to take off, it wouldnt go into gear. SO I keeped trying thinking that it was a brand new clutch and was just screwing up or warming up or sumthing. Still didnt go into gear, not even reverse. so i shut er down and then pushed the clutch in and it slid into 1`st no problem, then I started it back up from there and immediatly after I had turned the key over, the engine started revving and the car started moving and I didnt have power brakes but it let me shift into 2'nd gear.
So I took it straight home the whole way in 2'nd and parked it.
The following day I called the mechanic from the garage and he said he thinks its eather Air in the Lines and/or the Ball Bearing clutch release wasent releasing and was causing extra pressure on the bearing and therefore breaking it. So I took it into the shop today and they said they will look at it tomorrow morning.

So what im asking is;
Has This ever happened to anyone before on here?
If so, What was the problem so i can let the mechanic no what it could possibly be
And does this mean i need a new clutch put in? or just a new bearing?

Thnx in advance guys ~Will.

P.S. other than this clutch thing I couldnt be happier with the new purchase of this car.... I hope once I break the clutch in I can really open er up and see what rotary power has got. Thnx again!
