it doesnt turn over. was starting with no issue. It smells like fuel like it might be flooded but i am not pumping the gas pedal or anything and it has been sitting for a day and still wont start.

any pointers for a newbie?

 

If it doesnt turn over check the starter connection, grounds, fuses or and of course the battery. You will smell gas sometimes due to the fact the pump is on when you turn the key.

As in not cranking at all when the key is turned to the start position? If so, check the battery, cables, clean the cable connections on both ends. If those are good, have the starter tested. The pump comes on when the key is in the start position or the door flap in the MAF is open.

If you're smelling raw gas in the tailpipe, it's most likely flooded. Disable spark and pump, remove the plugs, crank it over to blow out the extra fuel, clean and dry the plugs before reinstalling.
