I swapped an old chair that my wife hated for an rx3/4 that has been to Alaska and back twice. It has been sitting in the same place for at least twenty years, the starter died and he parked it in a shed.I am going to winch it out and trailer it home. how should I treat the engine at this point. ( I know with loving kindness) yeah right! maybe when I can see the whole car I may scrap it any good ideas?

 

pull the plugs and see if there's any compression. if not, try the MMO/ATF treatment and let it sit a while, then try the compression check again. provided u get some compression on it, move to cleaning the carb and draining the tank and putting fresh gas in it. get a good battery so u can check the electrical system to see what works and what don't. after 20 yrs, u'd be very luck to get that thing to fire up. good luck.

 

got the title today ,its a 74 little wagon , that make it an RX-4 ?????

 

rx3 and rx4 were both sedans, coupes, and wagons. post pics and we'll tell u what it is. is the badge missing on the rear quarter panel? what's it say on the title?

 

says 74 mazda. the thing is so buried under junk in the garage,you wouldnt believe. probably take two days to exhume it, pix then

 

Try regular oil. Don't use the red liquid to build compression.

 

If it's an rx3 then it's worth good money.
