13B question
13B question
Hey my name is masa,
Im pretty new to the rotary world and I plan on learning alot about it, RX7's are amazing cars with alot of potential and great motors.
My question is, theres a NA 13B sitting at my autotech class, would taking it apart and putting it back together teach me anything? If so anything to look out for when taking it apart?
thanks for your time

p.s- I looked around for a correct thread section and this seemed to be the right section, if not my mistake.

I don't think I would jump right in with a dismantle of a rotary without first doing some reading. The factory service manuals are on line and I would look into them first. Rotaries are 180 degrees different from piston bangers. There are no pistons, no cam shafts, no valve springs. There are internal seals, there are rotors. Plugs are referred to as leading and trailing.
Tearing down a rotary will be a learning experience, but I would undertake the effort only after I had acquainted myself with some of the uniqueness of that type of engine.
