Views on the RX-8:

Great suspension. Very responsive and supple. Settles fast, and follows road imperfections well.

Wheelbase is a bit long. Very stable and secure feeling. Basically corrects itself when the rear steps out, compared to FCs, which are twitchy by comparison.

Driving experience is very lively, makes the right noises and feelings. Feels exotic. Flywheel is very light, and the off idle torque is the best of all 13Bs. Modern sensors and ECU make it drive very well.

Very fun on the highway. The chassis is happy at higher speeds. However, at 70 , it could use more horsepower to make things interesting.

No turbo surge. Likes to drive slowly, or fast, but lacks feeling when driven at 50%.

Gear spacing is too tight. The 2nd-3rd shift is very satisfying, but that's about it. I'd prefer a 5 speed with a fatter torque curve.

For snow driving, the ground clearance is lower than an FC, and the larger footprint is not welcome. An NA beater FC wins for snow. Still gets through Michigan Snowpocalype 2014 just fine with mostly worn out snow tires.

A great (perfect?) daily driver, and the overall quality of the car makes me wish for a modern RX-7. With a couple tweaks (turbo), the car is would actually be quite perfect.
