Getting whatever sensor back in the new one was a pain idk why but I just couldn’t get it to thread with the wire holding rotation and backing it out while I tightened. And a weird half socket with what looks like a bite out of the side of it from our Honda odyssey was exactly the niche tool I had on hand that I needed in the only size I had to get it out, So, that’s amazingly convenient. But with a little anti seize I got it secured

Next on the list is figuring out EXACTLY how I’m supposed to make all the silicone hoses I bought work in there. There’s so many tubes man, and the ones that aren’t burnt crispy are all disconnected and idek where they came from so that’s the next thing

Working on getting the heat shield off, someone slap the Mazda engineer who put this bolt here and the one behind the front actuator, because without an extension my adjustable wrench took me over an hour to get that thing off 😂

Had to add a second post apparently there’s a max limit for photos and/or length so here’s the last one Anyway the engine isn’t blown so at least we knew that the thing wasn’t a waste of money

Got to work with brother in law trying to get it to run, we MMO’d the rotors on all seals With decent compression sounds, and poured some oil and gasoline in a 5 gallon jug and shook to mix, then filled the tank, wired up a fuel cutoff/ fuel pump on switch so that it would work, he started! Not for long but he’s coughing and smoking out the neighborhood! We put in new injectors and he went home, I went to work the next morning and the engine fire incident happened. Now it’s time to repair.

This little tire wouldn’t hold air, I thought we just didn’t fill one up, but it was a bad valve stem core, and it’s officially my first real repair as a blossoming starter mechanic 🧑‍🔧 😂 I bought the parts and the tires fixed! So I’ll put em on after I attach the exhaust that comes in the mail tomorrow

I made sure to keep all the lights on so I didn’t lose them or their places, the rear driver side is rusted solid, so I’m gonna have to figure out how to do that whole fiasco another day
