Stopping at Porteau Cove, a favourite scuba diving spot. Sea-to-sky highway runs along the base of the cliff in the background. The narrow right-of-way is shared by the last miles of an important transcontinenta railway. The cliff face here is very unstable, which was a concern to the Olympic Committee. The Province spent $1.4 billion "improving" this section of the highway.

Historic Britannia Mines Museum, ore crushing facility. This building featured in the opening credits of the "X Files". (This is where Agent Maldor discovered the files on the alien dna inoculations.) Many other scenes were filmed in this area. Old mine shafts run out under Howe Sound. The museum has a underground tour on a refurbished mine train.
