New Leather Seat Covers for the 2nd gen

After all the hoopla that was created over the OSA seat covers, I decided to give a reputable Upholstry shop a call. I called Jeremy at Customized Factory Interiors and explained to him that I did not notice that they had anything for the 2nd gen and he began to apologize. I explained to him that there was no legitimate shops making leather seat replacement covers for the 2nd gen.
I'd say it peaked his interest. I told him that it might be a good idea to start a thread just gauge the interest in how many people might be interested in re-covering there seats. He said that he would need the covers off of a set of seats. I might send the ones off of my 88 TII, but the drivers side is a little torn up to be used to create a pattern. If your interested let them know at sales@leatherseats.com <sales@leatherseats.com>

http://www.leatherseats.com/

As much as I've seen people talk about this it would be cool to see this get off the ground.

Later,
Dave

I wonder if the Turbo models have the same seats from 87-91. If they don't then what are the breakdowns...S4 to S5? Does anyone know. I would like to find out so that there will be seatcovers for everyone. I just know that if they made them I'd buy them...it's all has to start somewhere.

Do the leather seats not last as long as the cloth seats?

I got Grey(rough shape) Leather on My 88 Black TII
got grey Cloth on my 87 TII
Blue Cloth on my 88 GXL...
and Love the Feel of leather
more Luxury Feel/Look

Leather will last if you maintain it
and use seat covers to not expose them to the Sun.

OSA charges 450
I'm willing to spend $600 on some Top Quality Covers

as for diffrent seats

I'm sorry no offense intented

There 2 classes of FC's that there owners tend to spend more $ on
Vert and TII owners

others will say it's easier and cheaper to Buy some sparcos or recaros

However I have to wait till My 87 and 88 TII's
engine and Mods are finished(currently at My Mech's)

Kabooski are all the seats that you have similar in style. I know the convertable is completely different but my seats have a one piece back. (the head rest is not adjustable).

Me being an NA owner I feel I should be angry he said that but the truth is he makes a very good point. I just couldn't see myself spending 450...600 bucks on seat covers.

I would say that anyone that has an interest to email Jeremy at that link so that we can get this thing rolling. All they need to know is that they have the ability to make a profit for them to make these things.

LOL it's true... the sad thing is my GXL has an Apexi N1 catback that cost more than the car it's on!

i would be interested in the vert leather seat cover replacements....but only if they are perforated and are practically direct replacement for factory...and inexpensive, also i would like the option of taking it to the local upholstery to have them installed. unless its easy then i would prefer to install myself. let us know

If you would get in your car a meet someone to show them the seat covers why don't you just post a pick for everyone. I know you said you've been too lazy to post a pick but to me it would take more time and energy to go drive somewhere to show only one person your seat covers.

They started at $400, but will probably go up to $600. That is cheap though

You're ALL going to Laugh, but the guy who bought the OSA seat covers is FINALLY having a friend take pictures. I know - keep holding your breath

More details and pictures soon (hopefully).

Quote:
my opinion on the seats and from what my boss who has the same car as me has said are different. i wanted more of an exact replica of original seats but they arent exact duplicates. i showed my boss my seats and said to him the same thing, but he says no they still look good. i beleive they are very comfortable, look pretty good to someone who soesnt know exactly what the oem seats are. actually way better than a cover..1000 times better than a cover. but theyre now 400+ dollars (not what i paid) and im questionable as to whether its not worth it to pay a few more bucks to get an upholstery shop to do a much better job. my main concern is to not sway anyones decision and have them be unhappy or misconstrued about the actual product. and i realize that im not a regular 4000 post member. i was a little dissapointed becaus i was misconstrued as to what the actual seats would look like. i thought id get exact replicas.
