Talking RX7.COM brand new exhaust

its not in their catalog yet.

they called me up asking if i was willing to try their product instead the other choice i made.

since they have a good reputation i crossed my fingers and said yes.

RP exhaust Type-R w/ silencer.

its made in japan by the same company thay makes greddy/trust exhausts. at least that's what i was told.

Thumbs up comes with a silencer

439 bucks

i was a little scared about purchasing something i never heard about. i thought it would come back looking like it was spot welded by a junior high shop class.

go RX7.COM!!!!

Talking looks nice

Is that a silencer installed?
Hmm, looks like A Greddy PE II. Maybe they buy it from them at a discount and just rebadge it so they can sell it for less.

Looks to be a direct attachment to the downpipe so no need for a midpipe or cat.

it will sound just like any other cannister exhaust system. Apex N1, N1 Dual, Apex GT-Spec, HKS, Kakimoto...all have nearly identical sounds.

the word "****" describes how those exhaust systems sound on an RX-7, in my opinion and in many other's opinion also.

but it looks nice and of high quality!

hey Q, what are the specs on it? Piping size? tip the same size as the Apex N1? Looks liek the GReddy P.E. II like Go Racer said. I need a new exhaust (along with some other things) so was curious on its characteristics

The only thing that I don't like about the canister style is that they don't sit perpendicular to the car. They shoot out at an angle. To me they look like they were not ment to mount on our cars.

As far as these mufflers sounding like ****. I agree to a point. They sound like crap with you foot off the accelerator, but when you stomp on it. Man they sound like a harrier jet.

What are the other styles other than the canister type? What makes them different?

the greddy pe II is what i originally ordered. they called me asking if i was willing to try something else. its made by the same people who mass produce the greddy exhausts. its similar but not an exact duplicate.

here's an install picture from underneath the car. fit perfectly. only gripe was getting off the original exhaust.. fingers still bruised.

the muffler is not as angled as other canister exhausts.
its pretty much straight back.. its angled probably a couple degrees.

its 3" piping with a 4 inch tip. its like a pe II but this one comes with a silencer.

HOW IT SOUNDS:

i admit i wasnt to fond of the canister style exhausts. it really has a nice BASS tone to it.. its really deep running around. Probably because i only have a DP and NOT a MP. the sound is managebable. I HATE fart sounds but to my surprise this exhaust dosent produce it. maybe when i get my MP i'll complain. on the freeway you can barely hear it. stereo isnt much louder running around.
i love the overall sound quality.

it is A LOT louder than a muffler style exhaust. my friend's greddy SP sounds stock next to this thing.

i personally like it. i CAN return it. but i'm NOT.. im pretty happy camper.

the silencer chokes it down to a 2" opening but i dont think i'm going to use it.

oh yeah.. performance wise.. it pulls like crazy now.

I like it, especially that it doesn't angle out, instead it comes out at a pretty much straight angle.

It's nice to see that RP has a nice fitting canister style. I was wrong about this one. It really doesn't anlge out at all. I guess I don't like the angled ones so much because every civic and it's cousin has one crammed under their miss-aligned plastic bumbers.
