Question Third Gen Rx-7 Life

I've seen many third gen RX-7s with rebuilt engines.
About how long does the third gen (mainly the 94' TT) rx-7's rotary engine last?
Do I have to rebuild it frequently?

Depends on how you drive it. Some only last until 60k and then need a rebuild.

RX7NEWBIE16,
The best way to have an RX-7 live a long, happy life is learn everything you possibly can about it. If you are really serious about getting a 3rd gen RX-7 and keeping it in good shape, then you will first get a different user name and then then you will read the forum religiously as well as doing research on your own.

Average consensus on the original engine is 60,000 miles.

yea, it all depends if you know about the car, how you maintain it, and how you drive it. If you know everything to know about the car, maintain it very well and do the important reliability mods, and drive it properly without going crazy on the boost. Then your car will last a long time.

It also depends on how the car was treated at first by the last owner. The RX-7 is not for short driving rather for highway driving.

JONSKI I have to ask, but what is your avatar? Anywho, yes 100K+ miles isn't that hard, but one of the best ways to prolong this turbo beast is to single turbo the bad boy.

That's me in my driver's license photo taken when I was 17. I wanted a funny picture for my driver's license.
