i can purchase a flywheel from a performance shop in australia for a really good price . he told me it works with na fc's with 8.5" clutch diameters . either their spec fc's are diff , or there's a info problem . damn it was a good price too .

I believe it's a 215mm or 205mm disc...
215mm = 8.46", so this might be correct...

Mazdatrix:

Excluding the TURBO, all the different flywheels and clutches, from 74 through 92, are basically divided by 215mm clutch (74-82), and 225mm (83-92).

I believe the TIIs are 245mm.

The 88 FSM says...
NA: outer diameter 225mm (8.86"), inner diameter 150mm (5.91")
Turbo: outer diameter 240mm (9.45"), inner diameter 160mm (6.30")

Have you ever seen a 215mm clutch disc? They are puny! My RX-2 runs one.

Just checked the 89 FSM, the NA is the same but the Turbo's clutch plate is smaller at 230/155mm! Wierd...

I stopped relying on mine years ago. Less reliable than a FC!
