LOL

you have posted about 4 or 5 new threads in the matter of about 5 min...lol

Ok, rev to about 3.5k to 4k...dump the clutch and shift just b4 redline. This will keep you in your prime hp range. You have to becareful not to swing the back end out though...the more you spin the tires the worse your times are going to be. Just go practice and you will get the hang of it

I just want to say: Please drive safe. Your past 5 posts are somewhat concerning.

Also, do not take your car for granted. Your 7 is one of the few left.

actually if you slip the clutch and control the wheel spin this way will give you the best results. Dumping clutch will definately make too much wheelspin and loose some time.

You forgot to mention what type of tires you are using. If you are not using drag radial tires don't take it up to 4000RPM, you will not get any traction. Take it to 3,400 to 3,600RPM and keep on practicing until you find the best RPM range you can and get ready to shift really quick.

Exactly...

Usually around 3000 RPM is a good launch point for normal tires. I can launch around 3400-3500, but I have to slip the clutch to avoid too much wheel spin.

The stang might jump out right at the start, but as soon as the turbos spool, you'll be past him. If you are actually racing, redline it. That's where you'll get the biggest edge over most cars.

Other than that, practice but do it in an area that doesn't have much traffic.

usually best traction occurs almost 10% over the grip, so the tire suppose to be just barely loose traction to achieve most grip. I think you should feather above 5k rpm and modulate clutch and throttle to maintain boost. But not spin your tire

I'm with A-Spec.

Find some nice canyons and watch that bloated American car fall off the edge - it will never accerlerate faster than going straight down.

Is it necessary to actually redline it? what's the redline anyway, 7500 or 8000?

I remember from an older thread that power starts to decrease from 7500+.. so does that mean that it would be better to shift around 7500?

get a set of yokohama intermediates...wind to about 4500 rpms and drop your clutch....thats enuff to eat any mustang for lunch...though you could probably just start off in second gear and kill him too.

As I'm still running stock size Dunlop SP8000s, I find about 3000 rpm is good. I just let out the clutch quickly, not a dump, but I don't spend much time slipping. Since redline comes up so damn fast in first, I shift at redline for first to second. I find I accelerate faster shifting at 7000-7500 rpm for the remaining gears.

yeah pretty much like what he said.

but I am thinking you won't need to try that much, just doing things normally, you will beat the rustang.

haha. you guys are a trip. i don't think he'll be posting on this forum anytime soon, at least till he has enought nerve to be made fun of again. You guys are downright mean, let him wrap his car around a tree while racing a mustang because he thinks it's "cool" to spin the tires, then one of us can buy it off him cheap, becuase he doesn't carry full coverage (unless mom pays and he can't afford to fix it (because of all the booze, crack, and ******-not to mention the fact he's probably got Washer LEDs and every other 'rice' thing on his car, that crap adds up....).... Then we get a ragged out drivetrain and maybe an interior (though we'll have to strip the undoubtedly 'lime green' painted interior panels and remove the neon lighting....) but hey, it's all better in the end, cuz mom will feel bad and buy him a new stang for his 17th birthday...
.
.
..

god im rambling....
.
.
IMO, of course

Well this applies for my mild mod car, but I was gettin decent launches just trying to do burnouts hahaha like 5000-6000rpm dumps. 2 quick black marks and I just take off with rear kinda kickin alittle. I should try to refine this though. 2500 is too low to dump it, so I need to find some median that grabs well and moves without too much wheelspin. Most slipping is just bullshit in my opinion without tons of power to require it. I get traction pretty quick even trying burnouts, the black marks are only 3 feet total with only about 1foot of that being real dark black. Yokohama AVS ES100s, yeah they're cheap but they work ok. HAHAHA.
