My very own FD!! :)

I've finally joined the ranks of the have's as opposed to the previous rank's of want's.. I took posession of my 1993 Red on Black FD this afternoon..it is absolutely wonderful..of course it's too cold to drive it..not registered and things as such..but I'm just loving it right now..

A couple of pictures..will take more when it's nice and sunny outside. The color is Covrette C5 Torch Red..notice the Viper hood vent's..

Let the modding begin....

looks good, except for those paint chips or whatever they are.

That hood doesn't look too bad. I bet it would look really nice with the 99 front end and some sleek lights.

You need to take some pictures of it out in the sunshine though. I wanna see those.

I hear ya..I took some pictures after I got home, it was way too cold and dark..but as soon as it get's a little warm..

ummm......tasty, what hood is that. I've never seen it before. What mods did it come with?
That is the "Viper hood" as Flybye rightly noted. The only mods on this car is a Greddy catback exhaust. I've got a few things planned soon.

nifty! wait...aren't you on the clubb5 forums also?
Yes Kai..I am..remember I told you I was getting an FD..well here she is..

Nice rex. I like the hood too. what kind is that? Is it funtional to the intake or the IC?
It's just a Viper hood..actually got from Dodge dealer..it is cut open..as far as functionality goes..it's running everything stock as far as the engine is concerned..so not sure if it helping any..but looks great...

looks good, except for those paint chips or whatever they are.
Nope..no paint chips..those black things in the front are for the front license plate holder. I would get the 99 front end if it didn't cost an arm and a leg..

I will take some pictures in the sun and post them up too..

Thanx for all the comments guys..I'm sure I'll be more involved now in talking about my FD and what I want to do with it..

I'd really like to see some closeups of the duct and more info on adding it. I think it could probably be set up to feed an intercooler.

Wait a minute, and correct me if I am wrong but didn't the old owner of that car belong to this forum??? And I believe that's just a viper scoop molded into a stock FD hood...

Speaking about nice hoods... has anyone seen the replica of the Scoot Sports vented hood? I forget what site had it for sale, but it was listed as a replica, in either carbon fiber or fiberglass. It's the hood on that red RX7 that was used in a high speed test in New Zealand that Option magazine covered...

If you had a scoop like that on the pasenger side instead of centered, you would get cold ram air to Blitz or Apexi open air filters.

Can you snap a pic of the hood opened? ...how deep does that inlet go?

I know Nissan had a feed looking scoop above the hood on their 280zx turbos but it was over $250 unpainted.

Sorry guys, I meant hood [I]vent[/B]. There is only one, so you're not missing anything. I will take some detailed pictures over the weekend to post. From what I was told from the previous owner, he ordered the vent looking at his buddies Viper GTS from a Dodge dealer..then put it on..how, where, I don't know..

But indeed, it is just the viper scoop molded/melded onto the stock FD hood..not an entirely different hood..or atleast I think that's the case..I'll verify..

The plans for the modding has begun..the actual work will start soon..
