Mazda Racing Street Series Pulleys

I saw the dyno sheet on these Mazda Racing Street Series Pulleys and it blew my mind. 14 rwhp and 10ftlb. I was wondering if anybody has installed them. Did it really help that much and was it a pain to install them ei did you have to change the belt sizes. Thanks

Have you tried doing a search for pullies?

I would like to see evidence that these pulleys make power myself...
They usually don't on our cars.

I've got one on my car, I actually had to retard the timing from stock@4000 rpm (their recommendation) to get it where they want it. I only installed the main pulley, not the dual alt. one. I still have the air pump installed.

Engine feels much smoother at high rpm, and accelerates quickly, but doesn't "feel" as fast as it used to...maybe because it's less frenetic than before. Seems to idle and run perfect, however. A little quieter, too.

And yeah, none of their belt sizes worked, I had to make so many trips to Carquest for different sizes it wasn't even funny. At least they answer the phone and talk to ya if you have any questions.

I refuse to believe pullies will make that sort of a difference.... they are pullies!! Geeze, you are saving like 1lb of rotational weight that is at a diameter which ultimately would mean nothing considering all the other driveline parts on the car are much bigger/heavier etc. Like a flyhweel for example.

As for feeling better, faster, smoother etc... I think that's the placebo effect. Of couse I"m biased and wouldn't touch a product from them with a 10ft pole given my expereince.

I agree, for whatever it's worth, in my personal experiences, i have noticed little gain in HP. Probably psychosematic. However, i did notice that it idled smoother, and revved a little better. Not like some 50 shot of nitrous, just smoother. This was with the main and alt pulleys, on my TII and my friends 86 GS.
The pulleys were from RP, and were considerably lighter than the stock units. Physics tells me that this would be alot less energy to spin, since they're lighter

I was browsing around on their sparse webpage and noticed this, definitely not going to help credibility:

They say that their shift ****, the ball, not a lever, can shorten shift throws up to 2"!

I'd like to see the dynograph on how much hp gain one of their oil caps will net you.

I'd file that under "full of ****" category.
There is no way changing pulleys would fix the 3,800RPM problem.
The power change is way to dramatic - something a cat-back exhaust system would do rather than a pulley change.

That's too bad this shop is trying to rip people off with some false claims.

This certainly isn't the first thing they've done like this and I agree with everthing you've said Ted.

They ripped me off for an engine a few years back. I overnighted money... no engine. Then the excuses: the crate broke, the shipper screwed up, they tried to deliver and your business wasn't open, oh they actually delivered it to the wrong place but you have to wait for it to get back to Ca so we can put it on another truck for Tx... I don't know why it's not there. etc, etc.

After *3 months* I told them I wanted my money back and *they agreed* to a full refund so I bought another engine elsewhere. The next day they said they would wait till the engine was returned to them since "I might rip them off!" Finally after 4+ months they refunded part of my money, saying the $300 they kept was to cover their shipping costs since I canceled the order?#$~!

I never saw the motor, and for all I know it never existed... oh, and coincidnetally there was a motor fitting the desciption of "mine" FS the day after I canceled my order with them... yet they had to wait over a month for the engine to be returned to them so they could refund my money... Bull#$%@

and that's the short version.....

IMO yes, I just state *my version* of the event and people can decide for themselves if they want to do business with a place like that.... I won't just on principle at this point.

3,800 RPM hesitation, um it's not related to pulleys! so how is a pulley supposed to make it go away.

This New battery will get rid of your sagging suspension!

Ha! They tried almost the same thing with me!
Another friend, was ripped off by them also.
He never did get his money back! I think it was around $3000 too!
Good idea to stay away from these guys!

WHAT SIZE BELTS WOULD YOU USE FOR A DUAL BELT UNDERDRIVE AND DUAL BELT ALTERNATOR PULLEY SET FROM RP.

I have found no Answer to that question.

Why don't you go ask RP - where you bought them from...
