New FC Paintjob Pics (Not for 56k....)

Just got the paint redone as it was fading and chipping a lot. I'm very pleased with the outcome of it, and the way the rain was settling on it was great for the pics. Gonna dry it up and put it in the garage where it'll sit for a bit until i get my liscence next thursday.

First heres a pic of the interior, dont mind the wires, I was just taking out the front speakers and didn't get a chance to put them back.

I really like this shot of the mirror, nice rich color, and I love the FC mirror design.

Heres a pic of the hood scoop

Heres another nice pic of the rain water on the side

Back left lights on

Here's the back left tire

Heres a pic of the full back, excuse the speaker appearance and crappy tips, to be fixed up soon

You really have to see it in person to appreciate the nice job, most pics/vids dont capture the great look as most of you know. I'm very pleased with the paintjob, and the new car.

Maaco, lol, $400, was like 2 hundred something, but they fixed a lot of dents and stuff that I had too. Its got a 4 year warranty, so I figure paying $800 to have it done twice and have guaranteed 8 year warranty on it is better than paying some body shop a crazy amount of money to make it look just the same without warranty to last that long. Plus i'm not sure how long i'll have it for, so its a nice and small investment.

hah! that's wierd. and yeah i did see your post in the lounge... i'm gonna be a real hard *** to the manager before i give em my car (grrrr)

this is all i can afford as well(poor HS kid) and i might not keep it more than 5 years anyways.

Hehe maaco is coo lol i had my rx7 painted there when i first got my car it cost me like $250 and they painted it star burst silver for me. It sure didnt come out as shiny as that red paint and matter of fact the only time i saw a reflection on the paint was when i got in the car and looked at the top of the car lol. ohh well now im sad because i wish i never sold my car and kept it for a daily driver instead.

Used to have a Mercury Capri (the german kind). Took it to Maaco and was quoted some ridiculously low price for a high-end paint job.

Manager says "hey wait a minute that's not right" and writes me a higher estimate. I tell him Ok, I'll think about it yadayadayda and come back a few days later when someone else is on duty. Did I mention I kept a copy of the low estimate?

Gave him the low estimate, paid and got a receipt. Had the on-duty guy sign the estimate and promise me the car (also written) 3 days later.

3 days later, went to pick up the car. Nicely painted, no problems, but when dude brings it out, I notice the front headlight is broken. Not only is it broken, but the glass is still sitting on top of the bumper (and on top of the new paint).

Manager says it must have been broken when I came in. I tell him his prep guys did a hell of a job because they masked around the pieces of broken glass and didn't get a drop of overspray on it.

We called the parts store to get a price on a headlight, plus 20 bucks for my time in hassling with it. Manager guy pulled the $ out of the register and handed it to me.

Never went back.

So, at least Maaco got screwed once.

Well, you got the money for it, plus the extra money for him screwing up, so i'd say you get the better end of the stick on this one, heh

"YOU SCRATCHED MY CAR!!!!!"

Where?

"RIGHT.... THERE!!!!!!!!!!!!''

I had my car sprayed at Maaco... I did the prep work, and it came out as good as my prep allowed (I didn't worry about the smallest imperfections, it's a daily driven car, I already have a "show" car to fret over ) and I must say they did a very good job. Whole secret? Do the prep yourself, and PULL EVERYTHING OFF... that way they don't just mask it.

Anyyyyway, car looks great man, congrats-
