Angry STOLEN!! They stole my car now too...

Ok guys, as if blowing the engine wasnt bad enough, I went back to pick it up on the 3rd (it was left there around midnight on the 1st), but it was gone. My Dad and I called the local sheriffs office, they came out and ran the plates, but it didnt come up as towed or impounded. I filled out a stolen vehicle report, and had my Dad drive me home.

Let me tell you guys, this is the worst feeling EVER! I just feel so violated or something. I mean, that car was MINE. It had MY stuff in it, stuff my girl gave me, stuff my Mom gave me, hell, my Dad gave me the whole car. Ive built that car from the ground up . It just makes my stomach tie in knots thinking about it...

So, if you all could please look out for any of the parts from my sig being moved, that would be great, as well as looking around my area if youre local. Remember, the car DOES NOT RUN, so its gonna be sitting somewhere...

Anyway, Im off to go hunt for it or something. I just honestly hope the cops find this ****** before I do...

~T.J.

PS - License plate number is 849-GTT, its paint code WT, which is kinda off white with brown interior, and it has one bright white spray painted fender, a dent in the drivers door with a small rust hole in the middle, and a glued together bumper cover also on the drivers side by the turn signal light.

Dude, all you need now is a pregnant girlfriend, and some sort of a violation that merits jailtime and you will have the most unlucky person ever..

Sorry to hear about that, that **** is for the birds.

OMG. I cant even imgaine how you feel TJ. If someone stole my rex I'd go complete ape ****.

The other thing is that FB's are not stolen very often. I mean how much of a demand is there for FB parts out there? Nothing like for an FC, FD or a honda. So the guy obviously knew what you had there. Thats horrible. I hope ya get her back real soon.

That suxs.

How long was it sitting? It may have been 'towed' by one of those places that pick up 'abandoned' vehicles, then sell them off. I purchased my parts car from one of those places. I guess it just seems very odd for somebody to steal a car that doesn't run- it would take somebody with a tow truck or flat bed looking for vehicles to tow. This vehicle isn't the kind that would be grabbed by a chop shop either. I doubt anybody would risk pulling a stolen car down the road with a towchain- atracts too much attention and takes too long. Hmmmm, good luck.

Well, I dont want to spill too much information due to the fact Im a little weary of everyone, and the people who took it may either be here, or look here (big sticker with URL on the rear window), but I do have some leads that I am following up on closely with the police.

I went back to where it was stolen, and found a marker that was in my center console on the ground, as well as my passenger door lock. Looks like they just used a screwdriver on it to pop it out and/or break the tumblers and turn it.

I also know they towd the car away between 2:30 am and 6:30 am using another small car and a tow chain.

Anyway, as I said, I have lots of information due to myself and my best friend of 13 years going on a "man hunt" of sorts, I just dont want them to get "ahead" of me so to speak.

I also wanted to thank you for all your sympathies. Im a little past the crying "why did you take my car" stage to the "you better hope the cops find you first" stage...

~T.J.

EDIT: The car was only sitting from when it broke down at 11:57 pm on August 1st, until around 4 pm when I went to pick it up on August 3rd.

aside from posting it on the forum, how many people did you tell it was there? obviously it has to be someone that knows rotaries and came prepared ...

dude, this whole thing sucks! too much bad news going around lately. i, too, can relate to your plight. i hope you find it in one piece.

EDIT: i guess you were typing while i was. yes ... it had to be someone that knows you or knows of you. i really don't see some random person getting it started and then driving it without blowing up the other side of the motor and leaving it on the side of the road somewhere. retrace your steps since the night it broke ... good luck.

Ouch. I was thinking it might have been a filing error.......that the cops couldnt find your car in the local yards yet.....

But, tow drivers never have to bust locks out and fumble through your stuff to tow your car to an impound lot.

Well, keep an eye out for your stuff on Ebay...and all the other auction pages.

Oh one thing TJ, check with all surrounding counties and the state police. They caught the crackheads 2 days after it was stolen, but in a neighboring county. They held the car and notified my county PD, but the dumbasses never called me for 6 months! Then one night I get a call asking if I want my car back from the local PD. I went to the other county and got her back after paying storage fee (that county uses a private tow/wrecking yard). The ****** was out of jail b4 I got my car back! And neither PD was willing to pay for their mistake. ********!

Ask everyone anywhere in the vicinity about it. Try to remember any vehicles parked anywhere in sight of your car when you left it. Anyone who could have watched you leave it or know that it broke down. You could try to get a list together of all the people living near the site and check out what kind of cars they have and what kind of people they are. It's steriotyping, but you really can tell the criminals just from the way they look and live. While checking out the peoples places, look for any large garages that can hold more cars than the ones the people own. Any areas behind houses or behind fences. One last thought would be to try to think of the best roads to take the car on if you were the car thief. Then ask the people living near the road if they happened to see it.

I know that's all pretty much obvious stuff, but just a reminder. Seriously, best of luck. I hope you find it before anything else happens to it.
