I'm installing an E6K in my FD, and would like to confirm two thing:

- First one is simple; is the attached diagram accurate for my installation?

- Second, if the diagram is accurate, does this mean that there is no direct +12vdc inputs in to the ignitor's stock +12vdc input wire?

Correct , there are no 12v inputs , you just need to find the three wires at the ignitor , cut and join them with the three from the HALTECH 's harness , that bit of wireing with the resistor dosen't apply as there is already power in the stock harness.

Thanks for the reply. Unfortunately, being the knucklehead that I am, I'm still confused (big surprise).

Let me try these questions again, but first just a little background. The application will use NOTHING from ANY of the stock harnesses except the actual connectors. I'm wiring ALL of the engine harnesses from scratch. That said, here goes:

1. The stock Ignitor harness and connector had a wire in the connector that was a 12v input into the Ignitor. From what I understand from your reply, I SHOULD connect 12v into this stock wire/input.

2. The diagram attached to my original post above depicts two sets of connections. The first is connecting the Haltech to the Ignitor Inputs:

Haltech to Ignitor Input
Aux Out 1 - > 1J (Trailing 1)
Aux Out 2 -> 1G (Trailing 2)
Ign Out -> 1H (Leading)

It also shows that to each of the three individual connection, there should be a 12v source that is reduced down by a 1K resistor. You are saying that I SHOULD NOT use this setup if using the stock 12v wire/input?

I'll very much appreciate the clarification, as I'm down to this and the dash harnesses to complete the Haltech install.

 

let me try this one:
if you hold the clip to the ignightor on the side with brown wire at the top and unused port on bottom this is the way it should go w/ the wires function.

stock wires-------> haltech wires
a: brown=triger input 3----- to haltech dig out2 (blue)
b: lt green/red= coil negative out 2------> to front rotor's neg T 1
c: brown/b =triger input 2----dig out 1 (white/black)
d: B/W= +12V switched----- 12V switched
e: ltgreen/white=coil neg output3---- rear rotors coil neg trailing
f: lt green=triger input 1--- ign out (lt green) (also make sure this wire has all three conections when soldered... both wires from ignightor clip and dash harness and lt green haltech wire... this will alow your tach to work)
g: lt green/black=coil neg output1---- coil neg leading pack
h: has no conections before of after.


sorry if it is a bit confusing. just take your time and realy read it. you are only using 3 wires from haltech harness on your ignitor. ltG, L, w/b.... if front harness is still in place, you dont need anything else to splice in. i have done it both ways, with it in place, and without it, and these are my notes i took. you should be able to get it working with this info.
