Question Boost Gauge

I have read some post where people are saying that there boost gauge is not accurate. Here is my question..Who makes a good gauge that is accurate and also does some one make a guage that lights up close to the factory Mazda orange color.....

Thank you,

I don't know if you're going to find something that lights up orange like the factory gauges. However, Greddy and Defi have always been my gauges of choice.

I also use AutoMeter "SportComp" b/k the are the best match to the stock faces. Autometer now also makes an Electronic Boost Gauge w Peak hold and 30 sec playback in addition to their mechanical boost gauges. AdamC posted about VDO gauges offfering an optional orange sock to put on the light bulbs that is a close match to the stock lighting color.

I am in the process of modifying my Dash to accept 3 SportComp gauges; Water Temp, OilTemp, Fuel Level, in place of the stock Oil press, Fuel level & Water temp gauges. I already have Mechanical Boost/Vac and Oil Press gauges on the A-pillar.

Adam C has them in his car and is gonna help me put them in mine. I orderd them last week and should get them some time this week. Looks nice, is functional, and is easier on the wallet than some.

I'm big on the Defi D series. That's where you may have heard something iffy about it. Each tick mark is 2.5 psi. Kinda hard to get a dead on reading, especially when you're driving. But from my POV, it's fast as hell as far as response goes (can't say anything about any other ones since I've never used them). Plus, it's an extra bonus that they match the stock lighting. That's the actual reason I bought them.

dayshot...

The defi D gauge has the somewhat funky rings on the outside of the gauge to act as an adjustable dial, but they are indeed removeable, exposing a nice aluminum bezel.

I've got a Autometer carbon fiber boost guage and a Blitz dual turbo timer, and the differentance between the 2 is quite a bit!!?? Not sure which one is accurate.
I did the 3rd gear boost test and the results -
Autometer 10-14-10 psi
Blitz 0.96-1.26-0.96 (for now I only look at the Autometer guage, too scared to look at the Blitz timer!)
Mmmm I know I gotta get on this boost problem!!(Profec B for now and a single is on the way)
