frame cracks caused by stock swaybar mount
Anyone has experience with somethings like these?
I really like to hear from those who tracks and auto-x their cars.
Thanks
Reza

It's a known problem. I have yet to see them on my car and I run some pretty agressive roll settings, but I also use the Tripoint braces as well.
Cracks of that nature I feel have more to do with the mounts rocking slightly.

I took mine out yesterday, I am going to replace them with Widefoot, but I guess its too late, the stock mount already did its damaged on the frame rails.
Anyone has similar experience? What are your fixes?

As i reviewed the mounting
and materials used for stock installation of sway bars, immeditlyordered the "Widefoot" mounts for my new HKS swaybars...As a member (in good standing) of the Flat Earth Society, i was in fear of braking front mount and finding the sheer edge and never beeing seen again..... LOL Carter

Yeap.
I was in the process of installing the Widefoot Swaybar Mount, when I discover those cracks.
I have cracks on all 4 bolt holes.
Anyone experienced fixing this?
Any insight or help or story?
Thanks
Reza

This is what David Breslau sent me:
HTH.
If it is an actual crack (and it may take some careful scraping with a sharp tool to remove paint around it to get a better view), it should be ground out with a grinding burr or wheel, welded by a person who knows what they're doing, ground flat and repainted (do the inside of the rail too, the existing rust protection will have been damaged by the heat).

Yea...that is what David told me too.
Looks like a pretty involved process.
I like to hear from someone experience though.
I would imagine, that I need to take the bumper off, and other stuff around the frame rails before welding.
Anyone?
Thank you
Reza
