Paint code for Jspec color "greenish black"

... or "blackish green?" Did a little bit of searching, yielded no results. Where might I be able to find this color paint here in the US? Or at least, what are my options for getting paint this color? Thanks guys!

Steve

P.S. More search terms, in case anybody else searches this topic in the future:

He's talking about the paint code off the 1991 Limited Edition Efini Turbo II.

215HP from the factory, ultra light edition, 17" BBS RIMS (VERY RARE), Efini Badging, special paint code, special seats, lighweight exaust, etc..

I wasn't aware it was a limited edition color for the Infini, because I've seen it on JDM convertables and such... It's hard to see the green in the black because Jpg's compress the file so much, and I think it's lost in the 16 million colors or so that compression engines use. But it's there, if you've ever seen a color photograph. So no one has any clue?

Sound like British Racing Green (an almost-black green).

Mystery solved!!

Sorry to be dragging up all these old Infini threads, but more news!

The color I was looking for is called "Shade Green" and was available on the Infini III and IV. The paint code for it, PZ, is listed on www.paintscratch.com as "Brilliant Black." Not the right color, damn.

So after much frustration, I looked at ALL the available

shades of green for any mazda between 1980 and 2004. Two shades that might have matched what I've been looking for came up, British Racing Green, available on a variety Miatas, and Nobel Green Pearl Clearcoat, which, surprise surprise, looks like black on the paintscratch color pallette.

I found a picture of Miata in British Racing Green, waaaay too light, too "green." Finding a picture of a Nobel Green Protege proved to be pretty difficult. Apparently, this color is only available on the 1995 Proteges and 929s. I found a few pics of the car, but due to bad lighting in the photos, it was too difficult to determine whether it was the same color or not(in the same fashion that some couldn't tell that the Infini was green in the first place). Finally, I found pictures of this car:

Here's a photo of an Infini IV:

That, my friends, is a dead match. As it turns out, we DID get the Infini "Shade Green" over here in the States, only it wasn't on an RX-7, it was on a Protege/929, and it wasn't called "Shade Green" but "Nobel Green Pearl Clearcoat," and only available in 1995! Paint code is "VQ."Thanks to NZConvertable and j9fd3s for their assistance on helping me determine what this stupid color was! Now I don't have to import paint!

Steve

P.S. I TOLD you guys it was green
P.P.S. Here's another reference thread on this subject: https://www.rx7club.com/forum/showth...postid=1574996
P.P.P.S. vaugnc, those BBS rims you're talking about were 16", not 17" =P

It's had it's fair share of hangups I'm a college student, and school is about 150 miles from where I'm keeping both cars(The TII and the GTU donor chassis) so I'm not able to get to where the cars are often, especially since I have no car! Fortunately, spring break arrives at the end of this next week, so I'm heading off back to Sacramento and beginning the mad dash to scout a paint shop(I think I've already decided, but still wanna check out my options), get the car completely stripped down(if it's under the hood, and it's not bolted down, it's comin' off ), and transport the chassis to paint, all in about 10 days. Well, it's doable, so I'm looking forward to being able to play with it again. In the meantime, I've been keeping my eyes open for Infini stuff, but more often than not, it's you guys that are my eyes and ears! I've gotten tons of PMs about Infini parts, such as rims, seats, and websites, etc. I REALLY appreciate that. I'd never be able to do all this by myself if it weren't for the external support I've recieved from folks, some I don't even know! =D The most recent goody I picked up was a 12 page Infini III promotional pamphlet from Japan. This thing is AWESOME! It's FILLED with text, charts, tables, numbers, graphs, pictures, everything! There's no doubt that I'll be able to make this car an exact LHD replica now. I'll soon get to work on translating it, and post a pdf of the finished product with English text superimposed on the other Infini thread. All in all, activity on this project has increased quite a bit in the past few weeks as my break approaches and I'm able to actually start moving. Thanks again guys, I appreciate all the interest this project has generated. =)
