New Rx-7 parts for dirt cheap!
New Rx-7 parts for dirt cheap!
I was just wondering...do you guys really think a a 1.3 liter turbo II rx-7 would beat a 1.6 liter civic with a b16a? I didnt think so.
Honda's are the easiest car to make fast and their parts are inexpensive unlike Rx-7's where parts prices are astronomical! STP!!!!

What variables are we talking about? Full interiors. S4 or S5 T2? Which civic, EG or EK or EJ8 or what?
A T2 with $1000.00 into it with a full interior would beat a Stock civic or even an Si that had a $1000.00 into it.
Turbo back exhaust and FCD you're likely to push 250 at the shaft. I don't think the Civic with the B16a would even break 200hp at the crank with $1000.00 in exhaust work. Weight wise is probably around 300 lb difference.

well the b16 has 160 stock. i know i use to have a few crx's. they rev to 8200 just as high as a rotory. it depends on what year civic the b16 is in. if your talking about a 99,00 si. those only run a 15.7 from factory. a t II is almost a second faster.

hmm perhaps you guys would like to know something my friend raced a SI in his miata the SI of course had the usual muffler cold air intake and 2 18's my friend lost but a compelty stock 93 miata verus a SI lol. the miata was maybe half a car behind in the end oddly enough my friend raced my other friend in his integra LS non vtec verus the miata and smoked it. so everyone dont forget DRIVERS MATTER!!! you can have a 1000hp car but if u cant drive it my golf cart would whoop your ***
Integra LS has a B18 non vtec. With boltons vs my bolt ons Si... was either dead even or whoever got the jump pulled a little. VTEC isn't that wonderful of a thing. A TII will eat a '99 - '00 alive.. now a B16 in say an EG vs a stock S5 TII that could be more of a whoever drives better.
Im sorry, someone is messing with my name one here. Someone used it to post twice today and it wasnt me. My password was probally saved when i signed in at my friends house. Ill get this straightend out. Sorry....again
Yeah right......Honda......get a life...my 90 n/a GTU with normal upgrades turbo II brakes front and rear.....punched out cats...t/b mod....racing beat mufflers will walk a civic si....with or without vtech.....Hondas are commuter cars!
oh, since this post was started.....the guy that posted probally was talking about his 91 honda hatch he's getting a b16a...n/a he wont have turbo money for a while. What do you guys think, will he be faster then an 87 t2 with a rebuild motor (30k ago) and RB 3in turbo back exhaust and intake? Even if he gets the tubo...dont know the size?? I really dont. Let me know what you think.
naa.. he'll have the 1st gen b16. 160hp. which is atleast a 10 year old motor and with only 30k miles (so they advertise) not likely.. but ne ways... he'll see 15's with just the motor. boltons do little to a honda basicaly they are a 1,000.00 + for more noise and a little torque. It's not until you do internal work that the boltons start actually doing something for the car. The TII should be able to wave goodbye.
My friend has a '93 CX hatch with a b20/vtec full built high compression blah blah.. his best was 13.04. with a Total of 5g's invested including the car. Now he has Hondata (standalone ECU) and ITB's... that's a budget racer and it's pretty damn quick too

Someone once posted that RX-7's are considered in the 2.5 liter class for some sort of road racing, and I agree. I consider the RX-7 engine to be a 2.6 liter rotary because for the same number of crank turns, it uses that much air/fuel as a conventional auto engine. Or you could look at it the traditional way (the way two stroke motors' displacements are identified) and call it a 1.3 liter, similarly to how a 500cc two-stroke dirt bike motor uses the same volume of air / fuel as a 1000cc four-stroker, at the same rpm.

VTEC , put simply, allows most Honda cars to gain massive amounts of horsepower and torque by simply unlocking the technology with a "Powered by VTEC" sticker.
