I know, I know this is a general question that depends on alot. I am planning on buying the greddy 2 row fmic and wanted to know what to expect. I mean its a good amount of money. What kind of HP? Noticeable? Anyone dyno before and after? Thanks.
The first thing I noticed when going to a front-mount is the *increase* in throttle response - the car seems a lot snappier. Also, you know how fast the car feels in cold weather? Feels like that all the time with a front-mount.
A front mount also gives you some headroom to run more boost - up to 12psi on the stock turbo, if the fuel is there. At that pressure, the stock intercooler is just heating the crap out of the air and can't keep up.
Not to mention you don't have to pull that stupid intercooler off every time you want to do something to the car!
I'm 80% done with installing my Greddy intercooler, and it is quite a bit of work to install - there's a lot of cutting involved. But, it's all worth it when you see that giant, shiny bastard in the nose of your car!

Well, it is pretty much a bolt-on, but any front mount requires some degree of cutting. Remember, our cars weren't designed to have an intercooler up front!
You have to cut a hole in the sheet metal under the passenger side headlight, and another just to the side of the battery tray.
You also have to trim the bottom off of the front bumper support and cut the brackets that hold the bumper support as well.
Check out http://www.2751engineering.com and look at the CYM T2. He has lots of high-res pics of the install.
BTW, both the old Greddy and HKS front-mount kits also require cutting to run the pipes.

It comes with EVERYTHING - all the silicone couplers, hose clamps, brackets, bolts, MASSIVE throttle body inlet, etc. The only thing that has to be done is adding a blow-off valve - there is no provision for one. Which is kinda cool, since you can custom put one on whereever you want.
I'd plan on spending a whole weekend on the install - it's a LOT of work.

It's really a pretty safe mod to do - I don't think it would be a bad first mod. It's an expensive first mod, though! 
But, it's really hard to say for 100% sure - I don't know of anyone that's had JUST a front-mount.

1) What is the approximate intercooler efficiency at 10mph ambient side face velocity with an engine producing (your estimated hp at the flywheel)?
2) What is the approximate intercooler assembly or core pressure drop at (your estimated hp at the flywheel) and (your estimated boost level)?
Of course, an airflow rate (cfm or ppm) would be more accurate than hp, but they should still be able to answer your questions based on hp.

Get a TurboXS BOV - they sound great, flow great, and are very reasonably priced. They also come with the flange. All you'd have to do is test fit the first pipe, figure out where you want the BOV, and take it to a welding shop to have them weld the flange on - should only cost a few bucks.

The best place to mount it is either just after the turbo or just before the throttle body because these are the low-velocity/high-pressure points. If you retain the stock AFM, you should get a CBV (Compressor Bypass Valve), which is a BOV that feeds back to the turbo through an additional pipe to keep the correct air/fuel ratio. With the CBV, you may want to put it close to the turbo to reduce your tubing length. If you use an aftermarket EMS, then venting to the atmosphere is fine.

Well I'll be using an s-afc for a while. See the stuff that you are saying is kind of confusing. I'm not sure what exactly I'd need to do. I am planning on ordering the GReddy i/c and prolly either the turbo xs or blitz univerasal bov. Now installing the bov...I got no idea how.
