Exhaust flames problem..

Apparently my n/a 1986 mazda rx7 doesnt shoot flames out of the exhaust, but instead just bellows out with smoke.

Normal? Probly not, but i just wanna know why it smokes instead of flame.

what kind of exhaust do u have? I think flames only come out when u have strait through exhaust

I just recently bought it so couldnt really tell ya. If it helps I do know that the cats are stripped?

you dont have to have aftermarket exhaust to pop flames. just rev high then repeat till flameage

The same colour as when you turn it on, so white ish.
