My 20B

Here's an audio clip from when I was test firing it last year.

The size limit is 100KB. Ok, let's try it again.

Here's another. This time the tape recorder was placed in the garage about 20 feet from the (closed) garage door. You can barely hear the starter! That's what an open header will do for you.

I had no problem. I saved it, unzipped it and ran it. Sounds mean. I'd love to hear yours with a full exhaust to compare it to mine!

I had to use a 'zip' program because this forum doesn't allow attatching certain media file types. I also had to reduce the file size of the second one a bit to keep it under the 100KB limit (the sound quality was only slightly reduced). I'll find some online space to host my files.

The next time I record any audio, I'll do it digitally on a PC with a decent mic at 44.1 or 48kHz.

Reese, I've got a full exhaust on it now. The stand-alone wiring is almost done. Then some fuel lines and it'll be ready to fire up. By the way, the test firing last year was on a makeshift carb and modded 12A dizzy setup and it reved but wouldn't idle. It should do a lot better with EFI.

Yup. I would hope so! What are you using for an exhaust? Mine is a modded stock DP, Racing Beat presilencer and an Apexi GT-spec catback.

I'm about to make a 700 mile round trip this weekend (not counting the actual driving at the event). Hopefully, I can get some fuel tuned out for the long trips. LOL.

Do you remember Rotary Engineering? They made some rotary-capable glass packs and I had some in decent condition. They're straight-through with many little fiberglass edges sticking out along the inner surface. I installed three in hopes of quieting this beast down. I had to wear hearing protection when I was test firing the engine with just a header.

If it's still too loud, I've got a really long one I could stick in there replacing one of the shorter ones. I hope it doesn't come to that though. I want to be able to hear this thing.
