Pre- Order you N/A style CF hood

Ok guys here is the deal, me and my buddy got tired of waiting around for a cf hood to be made. Me and him are moving out in 2 months and we need money for that so I suggested this Idea to him. We went out got the stuff and made the mold og my gf's car, and put together our first one. They are 4 layer (may turn ou to be 5 layer by the time we start prducing them, I will let u guys know) and have 3 layers of poly on the top and polished with wax.

I know these are N/A but thats all we could mold at the time. Once we get some more money to make another mold we will do a TII one and sell those aswell. I have also herd comments about wanting a border style hood, I am not quite sure what that looks like so if someone could throw a pic of one up for me I will see what I can do.

Right now it looks like the price of the N/A hood will be $500.00 and the price of the TII hood will be $550-$600 depending on how hard that one will be to mold and make. Again I am not sure on the border one at this time.

The prices could definatly drop if enough people are interested, but remember its just me and a buddy making these things not some production line so your not going to get your hood right away (don't worry you will not have to pay a cent till the hood is ready) These will be made one at a toim eand will get alot of attention, no bubbles, strait weave pattern, and a high quality finish.

So for now I am just interested in how many people would be down for a N/A hood and how many people would be down for a TII hood, and quanity too if you want more than one

Ohh and pics of the border hood too so I can get an Idea. Again if enough people are interested I will deffinatly be able to drop the price. And BOOSD7(sp?) I sent u a pm about ad fees....

I was just asked a good question via pm, it was if the hoods would still use the stock hinge and latch hardware or if you would have to use hood pins. Well the answere is both... You can epoxy the stock hardware on (there will be flat mounting spots in the corect locations). Or you can drill some holes in the hood and use hood pins, its up to you witch way you mount it.

on another note I will have some pics up for u guys shortly, they are on their way to get developed.

Thumbs up c/f hood

would defenitely be interested in an N/A cf hood for around 500 bucks. sounds sweet to me. Id much rather have a tII hood though even though I have an N/A. Where are you all located? maybe i can save myself some shipping charges and make a trip to pick mine up.

its funny you bring up the question about the pop up headlight covers because we are already working on the molds for em and we are going to put a vent in one too.

send the pic of the border hood to me (zip it up first) zach@thrashin.net and I will put it up on my site

what was the final answer on the hoodpins?

The weight savings are minimal (aluminum vs carbon fiber), so we should use the OEM hood frame.

Thumbs up

again, im defenitely down for a c/f hood. Ill be happy with whatever style you decide to make, it doesnt really matter if its the border, TII, or N/A style. We should all just be happy that someone is finally going to make us cf hoods. Its the bickering about what style that usually stops these things dead in the water. Lets not let this opportunity die with all the others!!!!

If the price comes down, then Im in. Say 350-400 for a TII style hood for the NA.

5 layers of CF? Or 1 layer of CF then more of resin and f glass? Also did you make a mold of the supports, and all the underside? Good luck.

I Am in if it is the R-Magic one and sits around 450, maybe. I have made a couple hoods and they hella don't cost no 500 dollars maybe 250 most. I realize it is a pain and I would be willing to pay the extra money so just suggestions, I'll shut up now

250$ most? with 4 layers of CF? Damn wheres that CF tree?! With my distributers only one layer to cover the surface will run around 150 for the CF$ BTW where in Maine are you I am in Dover NH, do you go to the races in Sanford? I wondered how they could sell them with 5 layers of CF and not be losing $ at 500$!
