This car is gorgeous. It reminds me of my first RX-7, also a 79 Limited. That paint color is absolutely beautiful. Congratulations on the condition and low mileage. Truly a classic. Please let me know if you ever plan to get rid of this!!
Digging up an old thread, but my parents are considering selling the '79 Mazda RX-7 Limited Edition. They are still trying to determine exactly what to do, what to ask for it, best way to sell, etc. Figured since people here are those who know the most about the subject, what are your thoughts?
My thoughts...too clean to go to just anybody. If I was you I would buy it from them and if need be rent a storage unit big enough to park it in until you find a better place to store it.
I agree with rotornoob, almost. If I were you I'd buy it but not just store it. Check around for RX7 meets, drive it there and let the other RX7 owners educate you when they stop drooling.
Excuse the second post, but I couldn't edit for some reason.
79 Limited Edition trivia - If you wanted a "Black" RX7 in 1979, the Limited Edition was your only option. Beat Black was never offered again. Nearest color they did later offer was a much lighter version called Toronado Silver.

They have a new vehicle that looks to be fighting for garage space. I think the new car should spend time outside... or they need to move some of the stuff they store in the garage so it can hold two cars.

This is what I'm trying to get my father to do. I've done a couple track days this year in my car and he drove the RX7 out to spectate. He really seemed to enjoy the attention he received. My hope is that he will want to get involved with a group (and keep the car around).

I don't think I'd really have to "buy" the car, but I would have to rent a storage unit (approx $190/mo) for someplace to park (no garage, no street parking available - not that I'd do that anyhow, etc...).
Sorry for not providing an update... I was able to convince my parents to clean-out the garage and keep the RX7!
Plenty of room next to the new weekend road trip vehicle.
-Todd...
Todd, met your parents Doug and Shelly at SS. Great people. We shared some great stories since I recently purchased a Sonic Bronze Metallic with Plaid interior, that your dad and mom ORIGINALLY ordered from the dealership. In fact, your dad said he has placed a deposit for $500 on the car, only to have it sold out from under him. That's how he ended up with the dark metallic grey LE. Great story. Please say HI for me. I sent him an email to his AOL account, but have yet to receive a reply! Hope they made it back safe and sound and that all's well!
I had the pleasure of parking next to Doug and Shelly (and the Limited) at SevenStock. Great people, excellent ride. Tell em' Glen said "Hi!" & I have returned Doug's e-mail with corrections to my address!
Wow it's so good to know there's another Limited Edition out of the 3000 made still alive out there, I have this same car and I'd love to learn more about yours and talk some more about them with you, here's a picture of mine
That's a nice looking car SlickRain! Sta r you a new thread on it (this one is very old). We love eatly models and rare ones like your LE. Correction - I just found your thread in New Member section. Nice car, sounds like your making good progress.

If anyone is interested in selling a stock or "near-stock" 79LE in good condition and relatively low miles, I am very interested in paying a fair price.
