RX7 owners wanting to be Supra owner???

Hahaha, sorry bro.. That Analogy just doesn't work.
First of all.. Supras are UGLY.. compared to the FD.
Granted Supras are Fast and Can get alot of reliable horsepower.
That must be why, Growing up.. 4 of my buddies had one.
some autos and 6speed. Some modded some not. Probably
why there is 3 in my neighborhood and several more locally.
while my FD is like the ONLY one in my county. Sorry bro.
at the End of the day. You have to look at what have..
and the SUPRA imo looks like a damn FISH. Not like a shark or anything
but a goldfish/catfish..

As far as speed goes.. as you already know.. Who ever has more $$$$ usually
can go faster. Same applies to FD vs Supra debate. Any car for that matter.

As far as the AWD debate with Audi..
I'll go out on the LIMB and say..
I'll put my DSC (dynamic stability control) BMW vs any AWD Audi.. Period.
If you haven't driven a car with not Traction control but Stability control
that controls the car in straight line and around turns. You'll be in for a big
suprise.. As a matter of fact, i recently spanked some Audi A6/8 on a wet road
from a light. How fun it is, to bark 2/3rd gear and have the DSC kick in, and
feeling the car wanting to fish tail all the way thru the gears, but amazingly
corrects and stays straight.

11.7 to 11? Factor in awd and increased torque, and I bet its pretty even.

ironically a cliche of audi owners are " wannabe bmw/benz owners penny pinching
and bought a Audi" an over priced VW.

I have a buddy that has a Audi something turbo.
Its actually funny, he has modded it and it seems pretty funny.
got a chip exhaust this and that, intercooler and etc..
and guess what?? after all that.. Its still slow.

I was using it to say that your comment about how audi drivers are wannabe bimmer drivers is bullshit. Both are ridiculous statements, just like how you told the guy he wont get any respect from other drivers on the road driving an audi.

The BMW E36 M3's are one of the highly sought after Beemers.
You can find them in 4 doors also, which is a bonus.

and one of the last model BMW's/M's that didn't
gain weight and has proven reliability and track record.

Goodluck

the FD is only a 2 seater. PERFECT Excuse NOT TO DRIVE, when you go out with
your buddies.. worked like a charm in my party days...
Hey not to cut in but RX7's always get alot of attention I have owned 3 83rx7's and currently have one which im gonna streetport or Bridgeport it and us a Holey or Venom carb work courtesy of my boy from Puerto Rico x Racer there, and people see my car and dont know what it is or that it's that old. Beside what car is it everybody want to beat at a race "THE RX7" they see you driving and want to test you an Audi's nice but has no history like the Rotary engine Try this site see Rotary history http://www.mazda.com/history/rotary/index.html great info

what are you gonna drive when it starts snowing?

most FDs in the $9k range will need a fair amount of work. at 19 years old, i'd rather spend my money having fun and chasing girls around than dumping it into a car. insurance ain't cheap either.

Brought back from the DEAD~!

Well here i am 2 years later looking at that post and it cracks me up.

I came a long way since then w/ the audi. Rebuilt the engine, Due to high mileage - - Made some pretty nice upgrades visually and Engine wise. Reading back on some guys' posts about Audi being inferior to bmw and MB just made me laugh out loud..... We smoke those guys all day long, and our cars look just as good as theirs. On the track we beat on NSX's , Run w/ porsche's and compete pretty closely to FD's, they pull on us at the straightaways naturally......

My mods are in my sig, but its time for me to have both. I got my A4 dirt cheap. a few thousand and turned it into an ideal modded form for this model and it should do a 12.5 at the track. (Not bad for a 3500lb passenger awd sedan) It can be upped further but the stock internals limit me to 350awhp unless I upgrade the rods, Then 450+ is no problem on a Gt3076R or similar.

BUT ! Its time for me to start looking for my FD. Done most research , but the question remains, although i am able to build/rebuild engines myself, i dont think am confident enough to tackle the 13b, Should i buy a high mileage / Cheap FD and just rebuilt the motor or buy one at the right price range, they are still expensive modded 10-15k right?

TIA -Rosati

I've owned many audis and 2 fd's, the fd is a touch more unreliable than the A4's but I've had a few B5 A4's and they suck almost as bad (control arms, abs module, ignition amplifier weirdness, abs harness connectors) most the stuff on the audis is easy to fix/replace but IMO they're not much different except the A4 is a lot better on fuel economy and practicality, in short if it wasn't michigan where winters hinder the use of a sports car, i'd drive my fd/sti year round and not keep picking up audis

So i think we know what you picked man lol

Either way, modded performance cars will give you headaches no matter which car it is.

I have an audi like you but thank god i have warranty and low miles. But im still cautious and still caring for this car, even though im mostly covered if something breaks. I would hate to have any down time.

At least the FD has an excuse, its old, finnicky, so its supposed to have down time.

But nothing like a luxury car like an audi. Its really no comparison.

Yeah it is.

You cant imagine how many people look when i drive the FD.

And its stock too, no bodykit. Just dropped on my painted black stock wheels.

I get alot of looks in the audi too. Especially at lights cause the front end is soo beefy and i dont have a front plate, people think its like a new car that came out.

I love having those rare, not your everyday cars lol

Im on audiforums btw.

I like Audi's when they break (and thats more often than not) because it means job security for me, haha! Have a guy whom I do side work on his car, 01 S4 stage 3 from NGP(new german performance), and that thing is pretty sick for being as heavy as it is, running 25 lbs on pump gas on KO4's.
